DIRECTIONS TO THE SCHAFALM & TRAVEL TIPS

"Let's head for the mountains"

Planai Gondola

The fastest and most convenient way to travel to and from the Schafalm, naturally, is on the Planai 10-passenger gondola. Both summer and winter!

In summer, the Schladming-Dachstein "Sommercard" includes a once-daily ride up and down the mountain on this lift for free.

And in winter, thanks to its outstanding location, the Schafalm can be reached easily on skis or a snowboard. The Planai ski area is a member of the "Ski amadé" ticket alliance
The gondola ride is included with your ski pass, of course.

Planai Toll Road | Car

If you arrive by car or bus, you will be able to enjoy unique panoramic impressions of the Schladminger Tauern mountains along this 12 kilometers-long road.

The toll road leads from Schladming directly up to the Planai. You will find the road off the B320 next to the "JET" petrol station. A road toll is required from the mid-station (cars 18€)

Please note that the toll is not included in the "Sommercard"!

During the winter months, the toll is included with your ski ticket. However, for the most part snow chains will be required.

From the car park, it is another 150 meters to the Schafalm on foot. We ask our guests to use the car park at the Planaihof since the Schafalm has no guest parking of its own. Only in exceptional circumstances may guests drive all the way to the Schafalm itself.

Arrival by Tour Coach

The Schafalm is also very convenient to reach by bus on the Planai toll road (12 kilometers). The bus can drive all the way to the "Planaihof", at which point guests will have to make the final 150 m to the Schafalm on foot.

The Planaistraße is passable for virtually all models of bus, If you need clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.

For coach groups that have table reservations at the Schafalm, we will be happy to leave a discounted toll ticket (price 75€ - 2025) for you in the "Schafalm Safe" at the toll station. Please notify us that you are coming well in advance via info@schafalm.at!

Barrier-Free Arrival

We are committed to ensuring that the Schafalm is also accessible to people with restricted mobility.

Consequently, guests with physical limitations can be driven right up to the Schafalm and picked up from there later.

The 10-passenger gondola is barrier-free, In summer, you will also be able to make your way from the mountain terminal, down the gravel road to the Schafalm - though you will need some assistance. (forestry lane, downhill)

In winter, it is a little trickier since the Schafalm is essentially enclosed by pistes. Transportation on the Skidoo is possible, but passengers must be able to hold themselves on and be able to withstand a certain amount of physical exertion.

Feel free to contact us at any time with your questions about handicapped access to the Schafalm by phoning +43 3687 24 600. Please contact us well in advance so that we can make any preparations that might be necessary.
